We’re pleased to announce GroupDocs.Redaction for .NET v26.10, released in October 2026. This version expands the available deployment options for Windows applications, makes product evaluation more flexible, and improves the handling of files that are rasterized during loading. It also includes security-related dependency updates.
What’s new in this release
This release brings several important improvements to GroupDocs.Redaction for .NET:
- Expanded Windows support: Added Windows-specific builds for .NET 6.0, .NET 8.0, and .NET 10.0, giving Windows applications more deployment options.
- More flexible evaluation: Updated trial mode limitations to make it easier to explore the product and test its capabilities.
- Security updates: Updated the
System.Security.Cryptography.Pkcsdependency to address known vulnerabilities and improve security across supported .NET versions. - Improved file handling: Fixed an issue that caused rasterized files to be saved to an incorrect location. They are now saved alongside the source file.
Windows-specific builds
Version 26.10 provides additional build options for applications running on Windows.
Projects targeting net6.0-windows, net8.0-windows, or net10.0-windows can use Windows-specific dependencies, including System.Drawing, for improved compatibility with Windows environments.
The regular net6.0, net8.0, and net10.0 target frameworks retain their cross-platform implementation, making them suitable for Linux and other supported operating systems.
Expanded evaluation mode
The evaluation experience has been updated to allow more extensive testing without a license.
A single process can now open up to 25 documents. The previous limits on the number of documents, redactions, and replacements have been removed. Trial badges continue to appear in saved documents.
Public API changes
Version 26.10 introduces the License.IsLicensed property. It allows applications to determine whether a valid license has been applied or the component is running in evaluation mode.
Usage
You can use this property to check the licensing status before performing document processing:
using GroupDocs.Redaction;
License license = new License();
license.SetLicense("GroupDocs.Redaction.lic");
if (license.IsLicensed)
{
using (Redactor redactor = new Redactor("sample.pdf"))
{
// Licensed processing
}
}
